Hyophorbe verschaffeltii

Hyophorbe verschaffeltii Single-trunk palm, fusiform, smooth and

ringed, from 2-4 m and up 25 cm diameter.

Pinnate leaves, recurved, from 1,5-1,8 m long, with the bases

forming a green capital with an expanded base. They have 30-50 pares

of leaflets of 30-45 cm long and 1 cm anchura, with the nerve

prominent central on the underside.

Branched inflorescences arising under the capital, with monoecious flowers,

fragrant cream-colored. ellipsoidal fruits, colored

orange or reddish at maturity.
