Sabal yapa appears in open areas remnants of ancient deciduous forests,
low altitude, subjected to periods of drought,
on well-drained limestone soils.
Blue-green leaves very little costapalmate as in the Sabal mauritiformis.
It has a high average growth rate among Sabales.
if you get plenty of water in hot weather and
it can withstand short frosts that do not fall below 4ºC below zero.
