Pachycereus pringlei family of the Cactaceae, the genus Pachycereus is composed of some 10 species
cactus from Mexico and the southwestern US.
Some species of this genus are: Pachycereus pringlei, Pachycereus weberi, pachycereus marginatus, Pachycereus schottii,
Receives the common names Cardon, Sahueso or Sanguesa and Cereus scientist synonymous pringlei.
This species is native to the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California.
They are big cactus green something blue that branch 0,5-1 metro
the base or from the same base and that reach the 12 meters high and 1 basal diameter meter.
present 10-16 rounded ribs and prominent with large woolly areolas
they have a 20 thick reddish thorns up 3 cm and 1 a 3 central spines longer.
The flowers are bell-shaped, arise in adult and are white
inside and outside red. Bloom in summer.
