Chamaerops low Volcano

Chamaerops humilis vulcano is a nice miniature variant of the popular

Mediterranean palm chamaerops humilis, is a native of Sicily.

Quite different from the Chamaerops “vulgar”,

grows compactly bonsai-type and with short, blunt-pointed leaves,

Herbaceous green with few thorns on its stem.

In recent years it has become increasingly popular with European collectors

although it has enormous potential as an ornamental plant, still scarcely offered.

In cultivation it is as strong and resistant as any chamaerops and one of the best palms for temperate climates.
